Treatments

There are not many treatments for Hypophosphatasia, the main and most promising being an enzyme replacement therapy called Strensiq.  This has proved to be a life saving and life changing medication to many diagnosed with this disease.  Much of treating this disease is managing the symptoms and not just treating the disease.  Make sure once you are diagnosed you located a good pain management specialist who either already knows about the disease or who is very willing to learn.  Much of what is known about how to treat this disease is learned by trial and error and patients sharing their personal experiences through support groups and forums.  To learn more about treatment and management options visit the websites below or go to the Hypophosphatasia section under the Blogs tab for what I have found to work and what I have learned from others.  Keep in mind that because this disease is so rare, and the information so new, some articles may be out of date but still may contain useful information.
